Specialized Dementia Training

Formerly Innovative Caregiving Solutions (ICS), this program is a "train the trainer" approach of seven comprehensive hours for facilities with people with dementia to develop a successful dementia unit.

The program includes an overview of the dementia process, communication and behavior techniques, activities that work, enhancing the memory of people with a diagnosis of dementia, and some hands-on activities. Staff coordinators can become certified to train facility staff upon completion of this program.

A certificate of completion will be provided to each participant, designating the participant as a dementia care trainer for the Specialized Dementia Care Education (SDCE).
